Visit Antigonish – Ceud Mìle Fàilte!

(A Hundred Thousand Welcomes!)

Welcome to Antigonish, the highland heart of Nova Scotia! Antigonish is a small town, rich in Gaelic history nestled in the north eastern part of the province. Home of one of Canada`s most prestigious universities, St. Francis Xavier University,  a picturesque campus known for excellence in both academics and sports.  Being a university town adds a diversity to the population aside from the Gaelic and Acadian roots. The county is full of rolling hills and beautiful farms, surrounded  by lovely beaches on its shores (source: https://www.visitantigonish.ca/).

St. Francis Xavier University is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People.

Craft distilling is a rich Steinhart family tradition over 300 years in the making. Thomas Steinhart still remembers coming of age in rural Germany, where he spent many happy hours helping his grandfather stoke the woodfired still. Though the fire has long since extinguished and the family farm has been sold, the joy of using natural ingredients to craft superb spirits is still ablaze in Thomas’ memory (source: www.steinhartdistillery.com/).
